Muncie, IN—Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Indiana will be introducing their annual spring fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS). The event will take place on Thursday, March 14 from 3p.m. – 8p.m. at Clancy’s Village Bowl and on Friday, March 15 from 1p.m. – 5p.m. at Ball State University’s Student Center.
Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a bowling event put on by Big Brothers Big Sisters nationwide. Each year, thousands of people come together across America to bowl, have fun, and raise money for their local Big Brothers Big Sisters affiliate. The money raised by Bowl for Kids’ Sake will go directly back into the community by helping to provide support for matches, volunteers and families and recruitment of caring, long-term Bigs for our Littles.
Each team will consist of five people who will bowl for an hour. The team registration fee is $125 – that includes shoe rental for each team member, bowling for an hour, food and drinks, a t-shirt and you becoming a Defender of Potential! The organization encourages each team member to raise at least $75 in order to make the biggest impact possible. There will be prizes awarded, at their celebration party in April for teams and individuals who raise the most money for this event.
Executive Director Sue Godfrey said, “We are so inspired by the outpouring support of the men and women in this community who have stepped up for the 90 Men in 90 Days recruitment campaign. To keep with this momentum, we are excited to bring back our fundraiser, Bowl for Kids’ Sake. All ages and ability levels can join in to support the life-changing power of mentoring. It’s a great way to raise money that will allow Big Brothers Big Sisters of East Central Indiana a platform to raise the much-needed funds to create more mentor matches.”
