Muncie, IN—A one-day writers’ mini-conference, “Reaching Your Writing Goals,” for fiction and nonfiction authors at all experience levels, is set for Saturday, November 3 at the Ball State University Alumni Center. Hosted by Midwest Writers Workshop, Inc. (MWW), the event features breakout sessions led by three successful East Central Indiana authors, each with newly released books.
“This program gives participants a jam-packed day with sessions on craft improvement – finding stories, plotting, character development – as well as the business of writing – hooking an agent and writing a book proposal,” says Jama Kehoe Bigger, executive director of MWW, now in its 45thyear. “The schedule will encourage new, unpublished writers, but also appeal to veteran authors who want to expand their skills.”
Authors presenting at the mini-conference are Kelsey Timmerman, Annie Sullivan, and Sarah Schmitt. In addition to the breakout sessions, the program includes a panel question-and-answer session and a book celebration for Kelsey’s newest release (Where Am I Giving?), Annie’s debut novel (A Touch of Gold), and the new paperback of Sarah’s novel (It’s A Wonderful Death). Books will be available for purchase and signing.
“The authors are MWW alumni who will share their paths to publishing and information on improving your writing,” says Bigger. “And we also wanted to celebrate their success with a Book Party.”
Cost for this day mini-conference is just $60 (includes lunch). The complete schedule and registration online are available at www.midwestwriters.org.
