Experience dinosaurs like never before when you visit the incredible Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas exhibition! Use technology to examine fossils and discover how dinosaurs walked, ran, and moved their long necks. Dinosaur Discoveries: Ancient Fossils, New Ideas is organized by the American Museum of Natural History, New York (amnh.org), in collaboration with the California Academy of Sciences, San Francisco; The Field Museum, Chicago; the Houston Museum of Natural Science; and the North Carolina Museum of Natural Sciences, Raleigh.

Start your weekend off right with live music, food, drinks, and fun at Minnetrista! After Hours: Moonshiners! Will feature drinks from family-owned Oakley Brothers’ Distillery in Anderson along with appetizers and desserts from Minnetrista Catering. Guests will also have access to our Message in a Bottle exhibit, showcasing a variety of messages in bottles found along U.S. shores. In partnership with Oakley Brothers Distillery. Canning Workshop: Tomatillo Salsa

August 21; 6-8 p.m.

Cost: $20; member discounts apply

Registration deadline: August 19

Try your hand at food preservation with Minnetrista canning experts at the home of the Ball jar! During our Canning Workshop: Tomatillo Salsa, you’ll combine tomatillos, chilies, and cilantro to create a flavorful dip and topping. Experiment with water bath canning and leave with a delicious creation.

Come listen to CNN’s 2013 Hero of the Year, Chad Pregracke, speak on river clean-up, the role of clean water in our communities, and the thought behind his Message in a Bottle exhibit. The exhibit itself is on display at Minnetrista from June 1–September 30.
