Muncie, IN—Muncie, Indiana based Youth Opportunity Center, Inc. recently welcomed John Dragoo and Lori Luther to their board of directors.
John Dragoo is a Territory Manager for Flexsteel Furniture. In addition to nearly twenty years in the furniture industry, John has experience as a teacher and coach.
Through his work experience and volunteering with youth over the last 23 years, he has developed a passion to see young people thrive. Helping children succeed and finding solutions for difficult situations that all people encounter throughout their lives is a key in helping them thrive in life. John has been able to form meaningful relationships with kids during some very difficult times in their lives. This experience gives John a perspective that many people do not have.
In addition to his work, John is involved with numerous charitable activities such as the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, Make-A-Wish Foundation, and Union Chapel Ministries. He lives in Yorktown with his wife and family.
Lori Luther is the Chief Operating Officer for IU Health East Central Region. As chief operating officer, Lori provides leadership and direction related to the implementation of strategic plans, program development, joint ventures and key services across the region. Lori has a strong record of accomplishment with IU Health. First in the West Central Region as CPO and interim CFO of IU Health Arnett Hospital before she moved to the COO/CFO role for IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital and then CFO for IU Health Physicians, before returning to the East Central Region as CFO in 2016.
Prior to joining IU Health, Luther was a healthcare consulting partner at PricewaterhouseCoopers in Indianapolis, Cincinnati, the Middle Eastern country of Qatar, and most recently in Washington D.C., where she led a healthcare consulting division. Luther also co-founded and served as chief operating officer for the national healthcare consulting firm, V4 Consulting Inc.
The Youth Opportunity Center and Youth Opportunity Center Foundation also named officers for both organizations. YOC Board Officers include Chair – Jeff Parsons, Vice Chair – Sylvia Searight, Executive Committee – Bob Beasley, Executive Committee – Dave Clevenger, Executive Committee – Gary Phillips. Officers for the YOC Foundation Board includes Chair – Bob Beasley, Vice Chair – Barry Green, Secretary – Kevin Mandrell, Treasurer – Don Conner, Executive Committee – Jeff Parsons, Executive Committee – Rick Rowray, Executive Committee – Polly Craig (Ex-Officio).
“The YOC is blessed to have so many capable and dedicated individuals willing to assist our organization and ultimately the children we serve,” stated Youth Opportunity Center CEO, Rick Rowray. “To accomplish the mission of the YOC and the YOC Foundation, it takes a lot of people and a lot of effort. Adding people like John and Lori strengthen our team.”
The Youth Opportunity Center (YOC) is a nationally accredited, not-for-profit, juvenile behavioral treatment center serving children and youth from throughout Indiana. Celebrating 25 years of serving kids, the YOC, in partnership with area agencies, offers a complementary range of services on its 75-acre campus including residential and outpatient counseling, on-grounds accredited school, CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates), juvenile court, day treatment program, and juvenile detention. The YOC is accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and the American Psychological Association (APA).
