Muncie, IN—On Saturday, July 29th, Hearts & Hands United will hold its annual Tools For School event. The event provides FREE school-supply filled backpacks and a new pair of shoes for Delaware County students from Pre-K through 12th grades. It is the hope of Hearts & Hands United that ALL children in Delaware County will begin school this fall confident and ready to learn.

The event will take place at Delaware County Fairgrounds from 10 a.m.—2 p.m. with registration beginning at 9:30 a.m. Backpacks and school supplies will be in the Heartland Building and tennis shoes will be in the Memorial Building. There is no need to come way early in the morning as there will be plenty for all.

Parents or Guardians wishing to obtain school supplies for their children need to present a valid government issued ID or Driver’s License and children must be present. Students who are in high school (9th-12th grade) can attend the backpack giveaway without a parent/guardian if they have a valid government or school issued ID.

Many local churches, small businesses and individuals have helped with donations, time and funding for the event. Major Sponsors  for Tools for School include: Amazing Joes, Navient, Muncie Sanitary District, American Electric Power and WLBC 104.1 FM.

The Tools For Schools event is a project of Hearts & Hands United of Delaware County, a 501c3 Organization. For more information, contact Kay Walker (765) 288-8876, or visit the Hearts & Hands United Facebook site. https://www.facebook.com/HeartsHandsUnited
