Community Foundation Announces Recipients of Seven Scholarships For 2017

Congratulations to the following scholars –

Samantha Floyd and Harlee Williams are recipients of the 2017 Janice Paige Hughes Scholarship.  Floyd is a Ball State University students majoring in special education: mild interventions, all grades.  Williams is a Ball State University student majoring in special education: intense and mild interventions.

Austin Gable and Richard Sprung are recipients of the Ross Family Autism Scholarship.  Gable, a student from the Indiana Academy for Science, Mathematics, and Humanities, is the son of Wendy Gable and Scott Gable. He will attend University of Cincinnati to study medical sciences.  Sprung is a student from Layton High School in Davis County, Utah. He will attend Davis Applied Technology College to study composite materials technology.

Taylor Jeurissen, a senior at Burris Laboratory School, is the recipient of the 2017 Gary W. Addison Scholarship and the 2017 Burris Class of 1949 Angie Wilson Scholarship. Jeurissen, the daughter of Douglas Jeurissen and Stacy Mark-Jeurissen, plans to attend Ball State University, where she will study theatre education.

Isaac Smith, a senior at Yorktown High School, is the recipient of the 2017 Jim Leffler Memorial Scholarship. Smith plans to study mechanical engineering at Purdue University.  He is the son of Dwayne and Tracy Smith.

Shantyle Wallace, a senior at Burris Laboratory School, is the recipient of the 2017 Alice Miriam Kitselman Scholarship.  Wallace, daughter of Otha and Heather Wallace, plans to attend Ivy Tech Community College, where she will study nursing and psychology and minor in Spanish.

Hannah Williams, is the recipient of the inaugural Kishel Arts Scholarship.  Williams, daughter of Thomas and Rebecca Williams, will attend Ball State University, where she plans to study animation.
