Muncie, IN—The Delta Phi Chapter of Kappa, Kappa, Kappa, Inc., is accepting applications for the 2017 Impact Grant, which will award up to $10,000 to a local nonprofit organization. Tri Kappa is also accepting applications for its annual charitable grants, which award multiple Delaware County nonprofit organizations grants in the amount of $250-$1,000.

“Tri Kappa is proud to be a catalyst for positive change in our community,” said Angie Rapp, chapter president. “Whether it’s through service projects or grants, the women in our organization work hard to create a better Muncie and Delaware County.”

Tri Kappa’s purpose is to bring women into close, unselfish relationships for the promotion of charity, culture and education.  To that end, Tri Kappa seeks to address the broad needs of the City of Muncie and of Delaware County in the areas of charity, culture and education.

Impact grant applications are encouraged for projects that will benefit the needs of women and/or children in Muncie and Delaware County. Tri Kappa will focus on projects that reach a broad segment of the community with needed services which are presently not provided; provide “seed money” for innovative community programs; enhance or improve institutional or organizational self-sufficiency; and act as a catalyst for action and community participation. Charitable grants generally focus on the areas of charity, culture and education.

“Through our grant programs, we support the hard work of the nonprofit organizations that seek to improve our community,” said Rapp. “Tri Kappa exists to serve this community, and our grants program is just way one that we do that.”

This is the fourth Impact Grant that Tri Kappa has funded. The first recipient was Open Door Health Services, which in 2011 received funding for a family resource room. In 2013 Tri Kappa awarded another Impact Grant to co-recipients Christian Ministries and A Better Way. Together, and with additional funding from Psi Iota Xi, they purchased a truck to pick up donations and help residents move from temporary shelter housing into their permanent homes. In 2015, Muncie Children’s Museum received the funding for renovations and a new exhibit that promotes STEM learning.
