Over each of the past seven (7) years, Old National Bank has partnered with an east central Indiana not-for-profit to host “100 Men Who Cook”.  The proceeds of this event has been awarded to organizations focused on helping the most vulnerable in our community. Since starting the event, we have raised over $600,000.

On November 5th, “100 Men Who Cook” came together again to further invest in the success of our community by helping raise nearly $115,000 for “Champions for a Safe Community Fund”.  After the event, this fund will accept requests for financial support from organizations within the community to provide programming, services, and activities that support the prevention of violence as well as the protection and care of victims of violence.  “Champions for a Safe Community” funding will provide resources to not-for-profits, civic, business, and government organizations to help in the development and delivery of innovative solutions, otherwise unavailable in our community, designed to make our community a safer place to live, work, and play.

The visibility of this event the past several years has also provided an opportunity for people affected by unfortunate circumstances to see firsthand 100 men work with many volunteers to raise money to improve their lives and the lives of others like them, and witness over 1,000 citizens from the area come out to support them.  Beyond the financial support, this visible compassion for others makes this evening a special gift for me.

East Central Indiana is a wonderful place to live… The “Champions for a Safe Community” is working to make it a wonderful place for everyone to live.
