Muncie, IN—Cornerstone Center for the Arts is offering a variety of workshops this fall. This is a great opportunity to enjoy a few hours of creativity, fun and community. These workshops are affordable, one-time commitments. Areas of interest include: visual arts and Muncie’s history.
Kids and Paints is an opportunity to get creative with your children. Parents can create their own art or observe their child’s artistic skills. This workshop will be at 6 p.m. September 23 and October 21 in the Cornerstone conference room. It is for families with children ages seven and up. The cost is $25 a person per workshop.
Cornerstone will also host two workshops mapping Muncie’s past. The classes are entitled: Dear Muncie: Mapping Muncie History Using 19th Century Diaries and Happy Birthday, Indiana: Mapping 200 Years of Indiana History. The first Dear Muncie workshop will take a closer look at a few former Muncie residents’ diaries. This workshop will be at 6 p.m. September 27 at Cornerstone. The second will explore Muncie’s maps throughout the years. This workshop will be at 6 p.m. November 16. These workshops are free to attend.
Pints and Paints is a guided painting workshop. Each workshop includes a unique painting, a drink of choice and supplies. These painting workshops will be held at 6:30 p.m. on September 29, October 13, November 10, November 17 and December 8. They are located at the Fickle Peach at 117 E. Charles St. in downtown Muncie. The cost is $25 per person per workshop.
Another great learning opportunity for children is Cornerstone’s Fall Break Arts Camp. Students will enjoy three days of creativity in the areas of: dance, theatre, martial arts, visual arts and more. This workshop will be from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. October 11 through 13. The camp is for children ages seven to fourteen. The cost is $75 per child or $50 per child when multiple children in a family are registered.
Coffee and Paints is also a guided painting workshop. It features a new painting each workshop. This workshop will be at 10 a.m. on October 15, November 5 and December 10. It is located in the Cornerstone conference room. The cost is $25 a person per workshop.
The Flower Pot Fairy House workshop is a great chance to let your child’s imagination run wild by turning a flower pot into a mythical fairy house. It will be at 1 p.m. October 1 in the Cornerstone conference room. This event is for children ages four to fifth grade and their parents. The cost is $30 a person.
