Today, the Muncie Rotary Club presented checks totaling $2,000 to four Muncie Central High School organizations for their volunteer partnerships in working with the Muncie Rotary Club, handling visitor gate admissions to the 2016 Delaware County Fair. Rotary members and group volunteers teamed together to man the admission gates. The Delaware County Fair gives Muncie Rotary funds for conducting the program, then Rotary gives the funds, along with an additional amount from the treasury of the Muncie Rotary Club to the organizations listed below from Muncie Central High School which provided volunteers for the various days.
Each MCHS student was given the opportunity to make remarks at today’s Rotary meeting and share their stories about working at the fair. Speakers presenting at the check presentation included: Gay Nation, Larry Alexander, Kassidy McDonald, Michael White, Kiley Kendall, Sarah Tinder, Will Walker, Don Wafer, Griffin Hill, Robert LaFrance, Elizabeth Tinder, Sarah Tinder and Dr. Steven Baule.
It’s always fun to see the kids doing these kind of things. It’s really important for the kids to get these kinds of experiences and we really appreciate the support of the Muncie Rotary Club because we would not be able to give them the same kind of experiences as you have. —Dr. Steven Baule
MCHS Women’s Golf received $800.00 (Evidently the boys golf team got their dates mixed up, so the women’s team volunteered for two evenings. Go girls! )
MCHS Men’s Tennis received $400.00
MCHS Swim team received $400.00
MCHS Printing and publications received $400.00
