Summer is the perfect time to introduce your child to new activities and interests – so, why not sign them up for a week full of art exploration! Cornerstone’s Summer Arts Camp is back for two individual sessions: June 20 through June 24 and July 11 through July 15. Students ages 7 to 14 will enjoy a concentrated week long session of classes in visual arts, theatre, dance, and martial arts. This program is designed to enrich the arts education of students while introducing them to new subjects and art forms.

A new addition to Cornerstone’s camp program, Martial Arts, will introduce students to Cornerstone’s popular Taijutsu course. This form of martial arts teaches children confidence, focus, self-control, and respect while having fun!

Dance classes will introduce students to a variety of styles including ballet, jazz, and hip-hop. Sessions rotate the various styles of dance to ensure students receive a well-rounded education.

Visual arts will encourage kids to develop creativity and build fundamental art skills. Art projects will be completed both individually and in groups. During the camp students will work with a variety of mediums in different art forms.

Theatre will include acting, improvisation exercises and theatre games. Campers will be encouraged to focus on personal theatre goals, as well as develop skills and technique with scene work.

Each camp will last for five days and will meet from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. each day. Camp will conclude with a final showcase on Friday evening. Students will be given a lunch break and are responsible for bringing their own food. A secure, refrigerated area is available for storage.

The cost of the arts camp is $125 per student, per camp, and is due at the time of registration. The enrollment fee is discounted to $80 per student when more than one child per family is enrolled. Limited financial aid is available at the discretion of the Education Department on a first come, first serve basis.
