The Anderson-Muncie Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. (a Public Service Organization) invites the community-at-large to a free event to Celebrate Cancer Survivorship, this Saturday, March 12, 2016, 12:00-2:00 pm at Union Missionary Baptist Church (A.L. Dew Memorial Chapel), 1103 N. Macedonia, Muncie, IN.
People are living longer after an initial diagnosis of cancer. Prevention strategies and early detection are important factors of which everyone needs to be aware. There is no cost to attend. Participants are encouraged to donate wigs for persons of color that will be given to the Cancer Services of East Central Indiana – Little Red Door.
This community service project is hosted by the Anderson-Muncie Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., as a part of the Indiana Statewide Founders Day. There will be a panel of local health professionals and health education and services organizations to share information on cancer survivorship and answer questions. There will be display tables of health information and interactive activities. Anderson-Muncie Alumnae Chapter Partners include Cancer Services of East Central Indiana – Little Red Door, Northeast Indiana Area Health Education Center at Ball State University, Tobacco Control and Resources of Delaware County at Meridian Health Services, and It Is Well With My Soul.
