By Mary Ippel—

MUNCIE, Ind.—Some of you know I volunteer at the Muncie Mission weekly.  I am so blessed by the men and employees I see every Monday morning at 7:30 a.m.  It’s a joy to see how the Mission uses all the resources they receive so wisely and carefully as they work with the men to help them restore their lives and the lives of their families.

So I’m happy to announce it’s time for my favorite fundraiser. The Muncie Mission “Walk A Mile in My Shoes” will take place on Saturday, February 19, 2022. This will be our 18th annual walk.  This fundraiser supports the Muncie Mission providing food and shelter along with layers of physical and spiritual care for homeless men in our area.

This year, as last year, has been difficult for many people in our community. The mission provides services to many others through their noon meal that is open to the public in addition to offering various services to those who have had personal catastrophes, and so much more.

You can choose to walk in person, starting at the Muncie Central High School fieldhouse (525 North Walnut street) at 8:00 a.m., or virtually, where ever you are comfortable. I’m inviting you and any others you can encourage to join my team—Mary’s Merry Marchers.

Those wishing to donate funds through the Mary’s Merry Marchers team are welcome to send a check made out to Muncie Mission to me, Mary Ippel, 5680 West Cornbread Road, Yorktown, IN 47396 or directly to the Muncie Mission at 1725 South Liberty Street, Muncie IN 47302.  Please write on the memo line “Mary’s Merry Marchers” since competing teams help raise even more funds!

The team’s Fundraising Page is  https://secure.qgiv.com/event/walamilimsho202/team/889647/

Or you can choose to donate to Mary personally, as some do, at—

Giving to others, in little acts of kindness or a generous attitude of care, will often result in thoughtful deeds and a gracious attitude being reflected back on the giver.  We can offer love to others in whatever ministry God call us to as we seek to show the grace, love and compassion shown us by God in that, while we were completely undeserving sinners, Christ died for each one of us.

Give, and it will be given to you. A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your lap. For with the measure you use, it will be measured to you.” — Luke 6:38

Please consider walking, donating and telling others about this ministry. My team raised $19,500.00 last year.  Lets bless the mission by raising over $20,000.00.
