Muncie, IN – Ball State University continues to offer one of the nation’s best programs for students aspiring to become entrepreneurs, according to a joint effort by Princeton Review and Entrepreneur magazine.

The Princeton Review, known for its annual college and graduate school rankings, ranked Ball State at No. 25 in its list of Top 50 Undergraduate Schools for Entrepreneurship Studies for 2020.

“It is an honor to once again to be in the rankings of the top entrepreneurship programs in the nation,” said Matt Marvel, director of the Entrepreneurship Center in the Miller College of Business at Ball State. “Since its inception in the 1980s, our bachelor’s degree program has consistently ranked among the best in the country.”

Marvel noted the center has gained national attention for a signature learning experience called E-Day, short for Evaluation Day, when senior entrepreneurship majors present their business plan to a panel of alumni entrepreneurs and business executives. Just as real-world entrepreneurs put everything on the line, so do students—who pass or fail the class based on whether the expert panel approves the plan.

“Our program is also well known for engaging directly with the startup community, focusing on real-world business problems, experiential learning, and getting out of the classroom,” he said. “Over the years, our graduates have gone on to leadership positions in a variety of industries as well as starting their own businesses.”

The Princeton Review names the top 50 undergraduate schools and the top 25 graduate schools for entrepreneurship studies, reporting each list in rank order.

The Princeton Review selected the schools and tallied its rankings based on its June–August 2019 survey of administrators at more than 300 undergraduate and graduate schools offering entrepreneurship studies.
