Muncie, IN—From November 25th through the 27th, 1,000 poinsettias were delivered to local nursing home residents through Woof Boom Radio’s 3rd annual Project Poinsettia.

Numerous community-minded organizations and local businesses participated in and helped sponsor the project. (See their names below.) Sponsoring businesses had their logos printed on a greeting card that was inserted into each poinsettia, so residents would know who the poinsettia was from.

The beautiful poinsettia flowers were provided by Wasson Nursery and Foister’s Flowers and Gifts.

Lindsay Stafford, local and national sales manager for Woof Boom Radio, said, “This is our 3rd year bringing Project Poinsettia into the lives of nursing home residents. And each year brings more and more smiles. It’s so humbling being able to bring the holidays to those who need it most. Woof Boom Radio couldn’t do it without all of our amazing local sponsors. We’re so thankful for them and for the opportunity to bring joy to local nursing home residents in our area.”

Steve Lindell is director of operations at Woof Boom Radio and a 25 year host of the WLBC Wake Up Crew. Lindell helped with poinsettia deliveries at many of the nursing home locations. He said, “The smiles that we saw were an amazing reward for the effort of this annual event. To see the outpouring of support from area businesses and organizations showing their love to these amazing people was also very heartwarming. WLBCland has a LOT of big hearts!”

J Chapman, president and CEO of Woof Boom Radio said, “Our employees love Project Poinsettia. It’s an opportunity for them to do something for others. Project Poinsettia gives not only Woof Boomers an opportunity to give, but dozens of Delaware County businesses pitch in and make this project work every year. If one flower brings a smile to someone who is feeling alone, the effort is very worthwhile.”
