Muncie Noon Optimist Club To Hold Open House at Camp Adventure on May 16

Muncie, IN–Come and celebrate Optimist International’s 100 years of helping the youth in our community at our open house, May 16 from 5pm to 8pm at Camp Adventure, located at 4881 South Proctor Road Muncie, IN 47302.

The Optimist Club owns the Camp Adventure Learning Center, which is a 41-acre facility operated by Muncie Community Schools, with over 140,000 students served since 1994. It is available to corporations and individuals for special events. Come to our open house and explore the camp!

We will be serving grilled hotdogs, potato chips, drinks, and of course, birthday cake!

Optimist Club projects include Student of the Month, Annual Max Gaddis Memorial Fishing Derby (June 8, 2019 @ 8am at Fullhart Pond), Youth Skating Parties, Optimist Essay and Oratorical Contests, and the Tri-Star Basketball Competition. Our major fundraiser is Christmas sales at the Muncie Mall, selling fruit cakes, caramels, and brittle. Our members also volunteer at the annual Iron Man Triathlon at Prairie Creek.

Optimist Club agencies  we support include: Hillcroft Center, A Better Way, Toys for Tots, MOMS, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, Secret Families, YWCA, YMCA, Salvation Army, Muncie Mission, and the Back-to-School Teacher’s Store.

Our club meets weekly at the MCL Wednesday’s at noon in the Muncie Mall. Each week we have programs from community organizations, people, and causes. We are always looking for newl optimistic members!
