Muncie, IN— In many cases here in America, the zip code you’re born into may have the ability to determine your future. Sometimes these divisions exist mere miles from each other, in zip codes that are just one number apart. However, the YMCA of Muncie believes everyone deserves the same opportunities, regardless of your zip code.

The Y is committed to helping bridge these gaps nationwide. Here in our community, the YMCA of Muncie aims to build equality and close opportunity gaps through our annual campaign.

Campaign co-chairs, Amelia Clark and Chad Shelley have worked hard to ensure the Y raises the necessary funds so all kids in our community are given the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential.

“Our goal is to strengthen our community through youth development, healthy living and social responsibility,” said Chad Zaucha, CEO of the YMCA of Muncie. “We’re proud to offer assistance and funding though the annual campaign to help ensure everyone can thrive, regardless of who they are or where they’re from.”

At the Y’s annual campaign launch, sponsored by Mutual Bank, more than $119,000 was pledged to create opportunities and access for all.  With 100% of board and leadership staff having made their gifts, the Y is committed to reaching its goal of $265,000.
