Each year Delaware County PCA sponsors a Candlelight Vigil to recognize the success of this county’s interventions to help children and their families and to honor those children who have died as a result of abuse and neglect. Awards were given to four organizations and individuals in our community who have made a difference in these efforts.

The YOC’s TRU Harbor program provides comprehensive treatment and evidenced-based therapeutic services to commercially sexually exploited children (CSEC) and sex trafficking survivors. “We are humbled and honored to receive the Certificate of Appreciation award from Delaware County Prevent Child Abuse. We accept this award on behalf of the Youth Opportunity Center, our TRU Harbor staff and the young ladies we serve,” stated Program Director, Dr. Katrina Mallory.

April is Prevent Child Abuse Month; all Citizens, Businesses, Civic Groups, Faith Groups, Health and Medical Facilities, Schools, and Public Agencies are invited to lend their hands, minds, and hearts every day in the fight against child abuse, stopping the chain of abuse “before” it occurs. Preventing Child Abuse is everyone’s responsibility.
