Muncie, IN— Krista Sides is owner of the Chameleon Salon in Muncie.  She has been working on a project she calls her YWCA Love Project at the YWCA downtown since Oct 23,2017.

In her career as a stylist, Krista knows how much color effects your mood. Krista wanted to do her part to help women at the YWCA,  by creating a positive, visually stimulating environment. Krista and her husband Richard painted &/or decorated 10+ spaces throughout the YWCA building.

All 3 floors have common spaces with the new updates for all the women & children to enjoy. Krista hopes to improve the overall daily moral at the YWCA with bright color schemes, brighter lighting, fresh clean paint, & modern decor.

Krista’s goal is for the YWCA ladies to have a home to heal & spark some interest inside themselves to improve & grow. Krista has been putting encouraging words, notes, poems, etc throughout the building. She hung maps in a bathroom for residents to share their travels. Krista’s clients, her husband, & various other community members have been helping with large & small tasks for the project. Krista hopes that other members of the community will pick up where we leave off and contribute.

“They could use a lot of love,” she says.
