U.S.News Ranks IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital Even Higher Among Region’s Best Hospitals for 2017-2018

Muncie, IN—Today, U.S.News & World Report released its 2017-2018 ‘Best Hospitals’ rankings and ‘Best Hospitals for Common Care’ ratings, naming Indiana University Health Ball Memorial Hospital among the state’s top hospitals.

IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital, part of the IU Health System, tied as the No. 6 ranked regional hospital in Indiana. IU Health is the No. 1 ranked hospital in Indiana, according to the U.S.News rankings.

Again this year, IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital also received high ratings in four adult procedures/conditions included in the U.S.News & World Report Best Hospitals for Common Care ratings. These included hip replacement, knee replacement, heart failure and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or COPD.

For their Best Hospitals rankings, U.S.News evaluates nearly 5,000 hospitals nationwide. More than 160 Indiana hospitals were evaluated. IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital is recognized in the Central Region.

The U.S.News Best Hospitals rankings, now in their 28th year, help guide patients to hospitals that deliver outstanding care for multiple specialties, procedures and conditions. Scoring for Best Hospitals rankings is based on four components: Outcomes, Structure, Process, and Patient Safety.
