MUNCIE– America Multi-Sport will be hosting its 4th annual Indiana Spring Sprint Triathlon and 5k, on April 29, 2017. The event is set to start at 11 a.m., taking place at Ball State University. Starting with an indoor swim at Lewellen pool, athletes will then hop on their bikes for a (2 or 4 lap) european style ride, looping through campus, then to wrap up the race, a quick run to the finish line.
Along with the triathlon and 5k options, athletes also have the option of competing in the duathlon or the aquabike. Athletes can register for a triathlon or duathlon relay as well. The events are sanctioned by USAT and associated regulations will be enforced. For full race-day schedules, more information or to register, visit americamultisport.com. The race will be the first of the four AMS triathlons to introduce the new triathlon series medal. The medal consists of four individual race medals plus a centerpiece, with each piece connecting together magneti- cally. Athletes will also receive a tech shirt as well as Papa John’s pizza at the finish line. The first 300 athletes to register for the race will receive a pint glass in addition to the features previously listed. There will also be a first timers clinic at 5 p.m. the Friday before the race. Family friendly viewing will be available in the LaFollette field.
