Muncie, IN—Three Muncie Community Schools administrators are transitioning to new positions within the corporation. Dea Moore-Young, former Grissom Elementary Principal, has been appointed Interim Director of Elementary Education. “I am excited about the direction MCS is going,” said Mrs. Moore-Young, “and I am very thankful that Dr. Baule has given me this opportunity to join his leadership team as we move forward in doing what is best for MCS students. I am thrilled for the opportunity to work closely with all of our elementary school principals, teachers, students, and families.”

Melissa DeWitt will be the interim principal at Grissom Elementary School. Mrs. DeWitt was a teacher at Northside Middle School for two years and was most recently an Assistant Principal at Muncie Central High School. “I am excited to be a part of such a talented staff at such an exciting time in education,” said Mrs. DeWitt. “It makes it even more special to give back to the community that I grew up in. Working with the parents and the teachers, I look forward to seeing how far the students can go.”

Justin Oliver began as the Assistant Director for the Muncie Area Career Center in July but is returning to Muncie Central to his previous role as Assistant Principal. “I feel grateful and privileged for the opportunity to have worked with so many dedicated people at the Muncie Area Career Center,” said Mr. Oliver, “I knew the opportunity for me to return to the place I consider home was something I couldn’t pass up. I love the students and staff at Muncie Central and really feel like I can continue to positively impact our students.”

Congratulations to Mrs. Moore-Young, Mrs. DeWitt, and Mr. Oliver on their new positions with Muncie Community Schools!
