Muncie Civic Theatre proud to present a special performance for any families who would benefit from a sensory friendly performance of the holiday classic Miracle on 34th Street, on Saturday, December 12th at 2:00pm.
Miracle on 34th Street is a heart-warming and humorous classic that helps audiences rediscover the true magic of Christmas this holiday season. Muncie Civic Theatre believes this message should be shared with our WHOLE community, especially children and adults with disabilities who might not be able to sit through a regular performance. Special accommodations will be made to create a sensory-friendly environment: the theatre house lights will remain on for the entirety of the show, the volume of the performance will be softer, fog usage will be limited, and any abrupt experiences will be removed. By using visual cues and avoiding darkness and loud noises, we will create a comfortable environment for children with Autism to enjoy this holiday classic. Families will have the opportunity to meet with cast members, including Kris Kringle, after the show.
The Sensory Friendly performances were started with a grant from the Community Foundation of Muncie & Delaware County and are maintained by Muncie Civic Theatre as part of our mission to enrich our whole community through theatre performance, education, and outreach. Miracle on 34th Street is made possible in part by Muncie Power Products, The Sursa Griner Group of Raymond James, 104.9 WERK FM, Wilhoite Family Dental, Heidi J Hale Designs, and Midwest POS Solutions Inc. Regular shows of Miracle on 34th Street continue to run until December 19th.
