MUNCIE, Ind.Cornerstone Center for the Arts, 520 E. Main St., is hosting a celebration of the end of spring classes with a Spring Festival, Sunday, April 24 from 2-5pm featuring dance performances and art demonstrations. Performances will begin at 2:15pm. The celebration is free and open to the public. Masks are recommended, but not required for visitors in attendance.

“Our end-of-semester celebrations are a chance for our students to showcase what they have learned over the last semester, and to gain experience in publicly sharing their art in a professional setting,” according to Cornerstone Director of Education Claire Aldenhuysen. “This is an important part of developing a personal identity as an artist in any and every creative discipline.”

Attendees will have the opportunity to get a sneak peek at the upcoming Summer Semester catalog and sign up for classes in person.

From 2:15 – 3:30pm, visitors will gather in the auditorium to watch student performances choreographed by Cornerstone’s teaching artists and perfected over twelve weeks of instruction. Following the performances, attendees will have the chance to meet with the teaching artists, see art demonstrations, and learn more about upcoming class offerings.

Mark your calendars: Upcoming dates for classes are the beginning of the Spring Semester Jan. 31, the Summer Semester May 23 and Summer Camps June 13-17 and July 11-15. This year’s summer camp themes will be Around the World in 80 Days and Myths, Monsters & Fantasy.
