Muncie, IN—The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie would like to welcome Mark White as the Director of Programs. Plan to join White and other Club staff at a Meet & Greet Open House on August 27th at 5 p.m. This event will be held at the Madison St location, 1710 South Madison St.

White will work closely with current BGC staff to oversee the youth programming at the Club. In addition, he will train and mentor new staff member to ensure the current and future Club Kids have positive interactions and experiences at the Club.

As a child, White was a Club Kid. When asked about his experience as a Club Kid Mark recalled, “ I enjoyed running around with my friends and playing basketball. The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie impacted me so much that after graduating, I started volunteering for the Club. The summer after my first year of college I worked as the Gym Supervisor. That summer experience solidified my passion to work with our youth.”

After graduating from Muncie Central, White obtained a degree in Business and Economics from Indiana University South Bend. He continued his involvement with the Boys & Girls Club as by becoming a Teen Program Director in Wooster, Ohio. While at the Club, Mark implemented several programs such as Torch Club, Passport to Manhood, and Smart Girls. Along with program implementation, Mark launched a Teen Center in the Wooster High School.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is excited to have White back in the community to continue growing the youth programming. COO, Qiana Clemens stated, “We are pleased to have Mark return to Muncie and his home Club to serve as our Director of Programs. The combination of his familiarity with our community and his experience as a Teen Program Director with the Boys & Girls Club of Wooster will prove most valuable in our efforts to continue to provide high-quality top-notch programs here at the Club.”

With the start of school just around the corner, White has begun familiarizing himself with the needs and wants of the after-school youth. He noted, “I’m excited to work for the Club and make a difference in the lives of our Club Kids. My goal is to continue the work the Boys & Girls Clubs of Muncie is doing to foster stronger connections with our youth and other community resources and to make the Club the place to go for quality after school care and fun. I know this is a tall task, but I have unbelievable faith in our youth, community, and our staff to accomplish this goal.”
