Ivy Tech To Celebrate Statewide ‘Days of Service’ Project

Indianapolis, IN – Ivy Tech Community College will celebrate its seventh annual statewide Ivy Tech Days of Service February 25 through March 3. During this event, students, faculty and staff are invited to participate in hands-on service projects organized with community and non-profit organizations.

“This is a wonderful opportunity for students, faculty and staff to come together to serve others, support community organizations and to learn more about the resources available in their local communities,” said Dr. Carey Treager, assistant vice president for student and career development at Ivy Tech. “Each campus will partner with service organizations in their community to provide projects for students, faculty and staff to complete together.”

Project and/or volunteer locations include:

  • Anderson: American Red Cross Blood Drive
  • Bloomington Region: Bloomington Animal Care Control, Rise Against Hunger
  • Columbus: American Red Cross Blood Drive, Bowl for Kids Sake
  • Evansville: Habitat for Humanity, It Takes a Village, Holly’s House
  • Fort Wayne: ACSPCA
  • Indianapolis: Indiana Blood Center Blood Drive, Third Phase, Rise Against Hunger
  • Kokomo: Dog Blankets
  • Lafayette: Rise Against Hunger, Indiana Blood Center Blood Drive, Almost Home Humane Society
  • Lake County (Gary/East Chicago): Fight Against Hunger
  • Lawrenceburg/Batesville: PAWS of Dearborn County Humane Center
  • Madison: Jefferson County Animal Shelter
  • Marion: Homeland Mission Food Drive
  • Michigan City: LakeShore PAWS
  • Muncie: Second Harvest Food Bank
  • Richmond: Lesotho Nutrition Initiative, Cope Environmental Center
  • Sellersburg: J.B. Ogle Animal Shelter, Center for Women and Families Indiana, Clark County Youth Shelter
  • South Bend/Elkhart: United Way of Saint Joseph and Elkhart County
  • Terre Haute: Rise Against Hunger
  • Valparasio: LakeShore PAWS
