By: Mindy Kemper— Muncie, IN—On Saturday evening, Heartland Hall at the Delaware County Fairgrounds was transformed into an enchanting scene from various Disney movies.  Guests of this magical experience were individuals with special needs from Delaware and surrounding counties, as they celebrated Prom 2019. Mickey, Minnie, Donald, and Goofy greeted nearly six hundred attendees, their aides and family members as they joined together to  “Be Our Guest…A Night With Mickey and Friends”.  The building was transformed into a variety of scenes from Disney movies, including  Toontown, a forest,  an under-the-sea area complete with waterfall, and a magical castle with well known princesses….

Tours are every 10 minutes with the last tour at 8 p.m. This event is open to the public for parents and youth over the age of 13. Across the county, 1,000’s of students benefit from Bell Education Grants each year. Awards of up to $450 are available through the Bell Grants program. This program puts professional equipment in students’ hands every day for three weeks as they gain video production and editing experience. “Students who participate in the film school will create professional video projects that will give them an advantage when approaching colleges and careers,” said Dan Allen, Technology Coordinator at MPL. Beginning immediately, it will operate under the name United Way of Delaware and Henry Counties. By: Jud Fisher— Muncie, IN—Nearly 20 organizations have received Ball Brothers Foundation funding since the start of the 2019 year through the foundation’s Rapid Grant program. The Rapid Grant program allows the foundation to respond quickly to community needs. Organizations can submit a proposal requesting up to $5,000, and funding approval or denial is typically communicated within one week. Among the organizations receiving funding in early 2019 were those with critical facility maintenance issues.
