MUNCIE, Ind. – First Merchants Corporation (NASDAQ – FRME) today announced Greg Mather as its new Chief Marketing Officer (CMO). Mather will lead all marketing operations and oversee the company’s initiative to establish a high-performing marketing sales pipeline and multi-channel customer experience.
Mather brings over 20 years of marketing experience within the financial industry, serving previously as CMO for large super-regional banks throughout the Midwest and Texas. Mather’s experience in omni-channel acquisition, brand management and marketing optimization tactics align with the company’s desire to build lifelong client relationships.
Mather received his bachelor’s of business administration from the University of Texas–Austin in finance. He later went on to receive a master’s degree from the University of Toledo completing the J.D./MBA joint program.
He will replace Karen Evens, who has served at First Merchants since 2005. With her decision to retire, her legacy will live on through Mather and his commitment to nurturing a people-focused, inspired culture that maximizes shareholder value.

Originally from the Chicago suburbs, Mather looks forward to combining his marketing and financial knowledge to drive client experiences and serve key needs in nearby areas. He will began his role with First Merchants on Aug. 30.
