Happy Little Photos Contest Announced

The second themed photo contest of 2021 debuts in Muncie with the theme “Happy Little Pictures,” and the idea is to pair a creative photo with a Bob Ross quote as the caption.

Prizes will be awarded to the top photos in three categories. The photo contest is open to everyone and is designed to show the creativity of the people in Muncie while honoring our community’s ties to painter Bob Ross. The contest is coordinated by Muncie Action Plan Task Force 3, whose goal is to strengthen the pride and image of Muncie. Here are the details:

WHAT

The “Happy Little Pictures” Photo Contest is about pairing a creative photo with a Bob Ross quote. A photo can show any subject — people, animals, objects, landscape —with a related Bob Ross quote as the caption. (For example, a photo of a dog next to a chewed-up shoe, with the caption, “We don’t make mistakes, just happy little accidents.”) The contest is open to anyone and the photos must be taken within Delaware County, Indiana.

WHEN

Post photos between July 6 and September 15, 2021.

HOW

To be entered in the contest, post your photo and caption (a Bob Ross quote) publicly on Facebook or Instagram with these two tags: @MuncieActionPlan and #HappyLittlePictures. Photographers are encouraged to share their submissions across social media.

PRIZES

Prizes will be awarded in three categories:

• Best Loved Award, most social media likes and shares.

• Judge’s Choice Award, as determined by the guest judge for this contest, Betty Brewer, President & CEO of Minnetrista.

• Most Creative Award, as chosen by the members of MAP Task Force 3.

Prizes include an Art Mart gift bag, a Bob Ross gift bag, a $50 Visa gift card in a George Insurance coffee mug, a DWNTWN sweatshirt, and more.

WINNER SELECTION

During the contest, MAP Task Force 3 will promote the photos and encourage participation and online likes and shares. After the close of the contest and winners are chosen, MAP Task Force 3 will reach out to the winners through their social media accounts. Task force members reserve the right to remove/disqualify, at their sole discretion, any photo they deem inappropriate.
