Muncie, Indiana—The Muncie Fire Department held its 25th Annual Tiny Adams Memorial Christmas Event for local children today under bright sunny skies and fairly warm temperatures. The event began at 11am today and runs until 5pm at the downtown fire station #1 at 421 East Jackson Street. Santa and his helpers arrived at 11am on a firetruck and received an enthusiastic welcome from the kids and parents in attendance.

Last year the event was held in the fire department training center, but it was back at its traditional home today after renovations to fire station #1. Chief Eddie Bell said fire station #1’s basement needed to be filled with rocks and cement in order to park the fire trucks on the first floor again. Since the renovations are now complete, the event was held in fire station #1 again.

Every child that attended received a FREE picture with Santa, hot chocolate and cookies, a candy cane, and a gift. 60-70 brand new bicycles donated by Muncie fire fighters were also given away. The annual event usually sees 600 to 800 children to visit with Santa and his helpers. The event was FREE for the community.

Merry Christmas to all our Muncie kids, Toys for Tots, and our community-minded City of Muncie firemen who bring cheer to local children and their families every Christmas.
