Local breweries and a winery featured on final weekend of Fair; July 20-21
DELAWARE COUNTY, IN – With the Delaware County Fair kicking off next week, the Delaware County Commissioners announced today a new attraction opening next weekend. On Friday and Saturday, July 20 and 21, the Delaware County Commissioners are hosting a Craft Beer and Wine Tent at the Delaware County Fair. The tent will feature craft beers from local Delaware County breweries both nights and wine tastings from Welch Winery on Saturday.
“The craft beer industry is growing in Delaware County–creating jobs and economic opportunity in the local communities,” said Delaware County Commissioner Shannon Henry. “It’s important to help raise awareness for this local industry by hosting a tent where people can try home-grown Delaware County craft brew.”
The Delaware County Craft Beer and Wine Tent will have three vendors each night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., including Guardian Brewing, Elm Street Brewery, New Corner Brewery, Wolve’s Head, Books & Brews, and Welch Winery. The brewery line up will be announced leading up to the event. With musical entertainment on both nights, fair attendees are encouraged to visit the beer and wine tent, taste the offerings from the local establishments, and enjoy a night of live music at the fairground grandstand.
“The Guardian [Brewing] is excited to be a part of the first ever County Fair Beer Tent,” said Kyle Johnson, The Guardian Brewing. “We are always looking for local events to showcase our brand of craft beer and introduce it to new people.”
The beer and wine tent is open to everyone 21 years of age and older. There is a limit of three beer purchases per person each night. All proceeds are paid directly to the local breweries participating in the event.
“We hope this is the first of many Craft Beer and Wine events at the Delaware County Fair. Enjoying a cold Delaware County-brewed craft beer at the fair is the perfect complement to an already popular summer tradition,” said Commissioner Henry.
