Muncie, IN—MutualBank is proud to announce and be acknowledged as one of the Best Places to Work in Indiana. This program, created by the Indiana Chamber of Commerce and Best Companies Group is in their thirteenth year with this being MutualBank’s first time making the prestigious list.

“We are honored to be named one of Indiana’s Best Places to Work,” says Dorothy Douglass, Vice President of Human Resources. “MutualBank employs over 425 employees throughout the state and for them to identify Mutual as a top employer speaks volumes.”

According to the Indiana Chamber of Commerce, this statewide survey and awards program was designed to identify, recognize and honor the best employers in Indiana, the state’s economy, workforce, and businesses.

To be considered for participation, companies had to fulfill the following eligibility requirements:

  • Be a for-profit, not-for-profit business or government entity;
  • Be a publicly or privately held business;
  • Have a facility in Indiana;
  • Have at least 15 employees working in Indiana;
  • Be in business a minimum of 1 year.

Employing Hoosiers since 1889, MutualBank thrives in a culture driven by values such as Character, Class, Compassion, and Competition. Inspired by the vision statement, MutualBank seeks to help people live better lives, which includes employees throughout the state. Recently, MutualBank announced a one-time payment for all full-time and part-time employees except the Executive Management Team, as a result of the Tax Cuts and Jobs Act. Furthermore, all non-exempt employees received a $0.50 increase in their hourly wage.

While pay is not everything, it is important. “Investing back into our employees reinforces Mutual’s culture of helping people live better lives and perpetuates the bank’s ability to increase shareholder value,” says Dave Heeter, CEO.
