Bring the entire family and experience Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration with the Muncie Symphony Orchestra this Saturday, November 12, at 4 p.m.  This performance takes place in Emens Auditorium on the campus of Ball State University.

Youth single tickets, ages 4 – 18 yrs., are $5 and adult single tickets start at $25. Call the Emens Box Office at 285-1539.

“This concert is for all ages! Disney is providing the projected animated shorts and the MSO will provide the live music. Each video will demonstrate the technological progress in animation at the time, narrated by Walt himself!” says Doug Droste, MSO Artistic Director and Conductor.

A tuneful and colorful celebration of groundbreaking cartoons produced at the Walt Disney Studios between 1929 and 1939, Walt perfected the skills essential to the creation of his first feature film, Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs (1937). Now, 85 years after their debut, Walt Disney’s Silly Symphonies return to the big screen to delight audiences of all ages, accompanied by the Muncie Symphony Orchestra performing the original musical scores.

Families are invited to participate in children’s activities that begin at 3 p.m. in Williams Lounge, the lower level of Emens. Fun activities and local partners include the MSO Instrument Petting Zoo, face-painting by the BSU Department of Theatre and Dance, Muncie Ballet, Toys Forever Hobbies & Models, Muncie Civic Theatre, WIPB and free family portraits, made possible by Murray’s Jewelers.  Children are encouraged to wear their favorite costume.

(A Special offer is available for new Family Series subscribers. For just $5, Youth (K-12) can experience three Muncie Symphony family concerts – Disney in Concert: A Silly Symphony Celebration, The Fisher I Shafer Holiday Pops concert, and Beethoven Lives Upstairs from Classical Kids Live!  For information about this and the Adult subscription special offer, contact the MSO office at 765-285-5531.)
