Munciana Volleyball Club and 5 Tool Academy are pleased announce a new athletic performance training program for all sports. This focused training enables athletes to improve their overall physical skills, reduce injuries and increase confidence.

Athletic performance training includes strength training, conditioning and cardiovascular training, sport-specific training as well as ongoing accountability and input from a qualified instructor. Providing a deeper level of training beyond running drills or learning specific plays, athletic performance training helps athletes develop their overall athletic skills, improve core strength and become better at any sport they pursue.

“As athletes grow and engage at higher levels of competition, they aren’t always taught how to optimally perform physical tasks,” said Mike Lingenfelter, general manager of Munciana Volleyball Club. “Athletic performance training helps athletes learn how to improve their movements, increase explosive speed as well as endurance and improve their core strength to better perform every athletic task.”

Offered at 5 Tool Academy’s Smith Street location in downtown Yorktown, the Athletic Performance Training program will offer classes to individual athletes ages 9-18, as well as private workouts for teams of all sports.

To allow the athletic community to experience the Athletic Performance Training, the following events will be hosted on January 2 at 5 Tool Academy:

January 2, 10:00 a.m.
Team coaches from all sports are invited to observe a demonstration session, meet trainers and learn how sports performance could benefit their team. Team workout discounts will be offered to coaches who attend.

“Athletes who engage in athletic performance training experience measurable improvements in all sports,” said Mark Taylor, co-founder of 5 Tool Academy. “This is an advantage athletes across the country have incorporated into their training program. As a parent and coach, I’ve observed the positive impact athletic performance training creates and we are excited to offer this to local athletes.”
